Victor Araya, MD brings his expertise as the former head of the liver transplant program at Einstein here to Doylestown. Dr. Araya is expanding the practice’s focus and understanding in the field of Hepatology and has brought some exciting new treatments and diagnostics to Bucks County.
FibroScan has Arrived! (Vibration-Controlled Transient Elastography)
FibroScan or Vibration-Controlled Transient Elastography is the newest way to safely and accurately diagnose liver fibrosis without the use of a painful and costly liver biopsy. Dr. Araya is now performing FibroScans here in the office in Doylestown, PA at Central Bucks Specialists. The procedure is a combination of ultrasound and vibration that helps the physician properly treat conditions in hepatology by getting a clinically recommended gauge of the state and makeup of a particular patient’s liver. We are the first practice in Pennsylvania to offer this new alternative to liver biopsy, and look forward to sharing Dr. Araya’s expertise and passion for the field of hepatology with the surrounding community. If you are in the Delaware Valley or Philadelphia area and your physician has told you that they’d like you to get a FibroScan, please contact the practice at the number listed at the top of the website or on our contact us page.
